Downward Dog…. with Dog!

I’m no yogini but I love a good stretch and I try to practice the art of just being, even if I have just two minutes in a day!  How often do we actually stop the spin cycle in our minds as we plummet through our daily grind? I’m guilty myself.. a typical Type A, needing to get it done as soon as I think of that something to do! We can have passion and drive (which are healthy attributes) but driving yourself without any balance will catapult you into a danger zone of long term health risks. You don’t need to have a backyard sanctuary, just enough space for you to extend your legs and arms and take in some fresh air. Just power down the cell phone, turn off the TV and put everything and everyone in second place. You owe yourself at least that. My friend captured these images of me decompressing after work one afternoon. Of course, Randall can never resist some company on his yoga mat. Yes, I said HIS mat. He does his own downward dog every morning when I let him out, t hen sits and waits for me. He’s my daily authority on taking a moment to breathe, play, love and be grateful!
